What to Expect

TAS classes offer adults the opportunity to return to school in an environment where the staff is helpful, supportive and trained to teach adult students.  TAS knows that everyone who takes an adult school class has life experiences that they can apply to career training classes.  We expect students to be here to obtain new skill sets and understand the expectations of the 21st Century workplace. Our students goal is to get a job and then advance in a chosen career in a occupation they will enjoy and become successful.

Offering Courses Leading to new Career Opportunities

TAS Career Technical Education Instructional staff have backgrounds in many career fields and bring a wealth of real-life work experience to share with our adult students. Not only is our staff certificated by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, but many are working in the curriculum cluster that they are teaching in, while others have years of experience in the workplace.  The workplace knowledge they bring to the classroom provides insight aht is invaluable to our students who are seeking a first time job, advancing from a job to a career path or who must retrain because their industry in which they were employed has moved to another state or overseas.

Development

TAS reviews the available Occupational guides  that  indicate the career clusters that will most likely have job openings in the present and into the future.  We work to provide classes that will offer training in the skills needed for these current jobs and those predicted for the near future.

Skill Level

Adult Students come to TAS with a wide range of skill levels and work experiences.  TAS offers classes for the novice to technology, displace homemaker to the more experienced student needing to 'brush up' or add new skills to their resume in order to find a better job or change careers.

Giving You More

TAS Career Technical Education / Allied Health classes stress skills for the workplace, but also emphasize the need for 'team work,' integrity, dependability and the other soft skills that employers continually stress as very important when hiring new employees.
