Arts and Crafts  
Calligraphy Learn the beautiful chancery cursive style of calligraphy.  One alphabet will result in beautiful poems, invitations, cards, menus, etc.  Begin making camera-ready copy and have your work reproduced.  Students provide tools and supplies
Chinese Brush Painting Delicate methods of painting will be taught by demonstration.  Hands-on practice in handling brushes, painting particular strokes, using rice paper and mixing inks, water and colors will be included.  Participants will produce astonishingly beautiful original paintings.  Tools and supplies provided by students.
Drawing Students will be exposed to different techniques for drawing.  Particular emphasis will be placed on perspective, line, texture, values and composition.  Students provide some tools and supplies.
Drawing for Gardeners Specialized lessons on drawing plants form the garden.  Basic forms and textures from nature will be emphasized.  Beginners and advanced gardeners and art students are welcomed into the wonderful world of gardening and recording garden plants.  Students provide some tools and supplies
Drawing Basics & colored Pencils This class is designed for beginning and advanced artists.  A great opportunity to learn new basic drawing techniques. You will explore and develop drawing methods using colored pencils.  Instruction will focus on realistic rendering of landscapes, seascapes, and still life.  Class will focus on developing student sills.  Students provide tools and supplies.
Jewelry Making- All Levels Design and create original jewelry of sterling silver!  Basic instruction will include 'lost' wax casting and the hand and machine skills necessary for finishing jewelry.  More advanced construction methods and techniques offered for the more experienced students.  Students provide some tools/supplies.
Knotting and Beading Beginning students will be introduced to basic Chinese knots, knotting between beads, quick transfer of pearls and putting on a clasp.  Continuing students will advance to more complex project using carious findings and learning other design techniques.  Students provide some tools/supplies.  Optional materials will cost approximately $45.
Picture Matting Do your own custom picture matting at a fraction of the cost for professional work!  Also learn to use double and triple mat techniques for mounting artwork, to select materials and tools and use them to your advantage.  There will be demonstrations and opportunity for hands-on practice.  Students will provide some matting/Framing supplies and some tools.
Scrapbooking Techniques A to Z Lettering, borders, coordinating colors, journalizing, punch art, rubber stamping and tool tricks will be topics in this course.  Come, relax, learn, and enjoy! Plenty of cropping time and tools available.  Students provide supplies.
Tile Painting: Glazed/Bisque If you can trace, you can do this!  Come and create works of art on tile!  Two step-by-step projects will be demonstrated in class plus time to work on your own creations.  Our techniques can also be used on other ceramic pieces.  Beginners and experienced painters welcome!  Supply list will be handed out at the first class.  Students will provide some tools and supplies.
Watercolor techniques All levels welcome.  Learn color application, art principles and viewing with an artist's eye.  Class covers a variety of subjects which may include florals, still life, sea, landscapes and portraits.  Through demonstrations and personal instructions, you will reach goals and become an artist.  The afternoon class normally allows for more individual instruction.  Students provide tools and supplies.
Dance  
Ballroom and Swing Swing and sway the night away!  Feel comfortable as you learn these popular social dances: East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Night Club Two step and more.  Have fun and meet new friends.  No partners necessary.
Belly Dancing - All Levels Beginning and intermediate students have fun dancing in a supportive atmosphere.  Learn or enhance basic belly dance techniques, including hear, shoulders, hips, isolations, are movements, and shimmies.  Intermediate dancers will work on stylizations and combinations inspired by Middle Eastern dance with emphasis on learning all aspect of belly dance performance.  Choreographed routines will be included for all levels.
Country Western Line Dance This high energy class is fun and easy.  Learn the Freeze, Electric Slide, Black Velvet, Tush Push, Boot Scootin' Boogie and more.  No partners necessary.
Line Dance Night Club Style Beginning Come and enjoy this aerobic-type dancing.  After the first class you can go out an line dance!  Learn Electric Slide, Black Velvet, Reggie, Cruisin', Waltz Across Texas, Hustle and new dances.  Dress casual.  No partners necessary.

Notary Public Course California needs additional professional Notaries!  This class will provide the new or previously commissioned Notary Public with the education and skills to pass the state examination, detect fraud and be successful in a new career.  There is a growing need for Notaries Public in the expanding financial , real estate, business and law professions. The State Certification test will be given immediately following this class.  Bring a separate $40 check or money order (no cash or credit card) payable to the Secretary of State (California driver's license or identification card required).  Fee includes $40 for materials.

Southern European Cooking Take a journey to Spain, France, Italy and Greece.  You can visit these countries by cooking and tasking the wonderful foods from a variety of regions in each country.  Some items covered are paella, coq au vin, chicken cacciatore, moussaka and more. The class works in partners to create the dishes and the class sits down together to enjoy the dishes.  Includes $25 for materials

Beatle Crazy Guitar Beginning Learn basic guitar chords and arpeggios using the Beatles as a model.  The class also includes a study of the song writing  process and a musical background of the Beatles.  Students of all levels are welcome.  Students furnish a guitar to participate in the class
Classical Guitar-Beginning Learn basic classical techniques and several simple pieces.  After a few weeks students will be able to read guitar music and be able to use both hands to play tunes with chords and arpeggios.  Students must bring a guitar to participate in the course.
Classical Guitar - Intermediate Work more extensively on classical guitar techniques including scales, arpeggios, and reading music.  Both solos pieces and duets will be studied.  Student-chosen favorite pieces will be included.  Guitar supplies by students.
Piano Level 1 Learn to play the piano with a quick, easy, modern method.  Notes, note values, chords and pedaling will be taught.  These basic fundamentals will then be applied to popular and classical music.  No previous knowledge is necessary.  Practice must be done at home since we have no practice facilities at school.  Textbook required (not included in fee)
Piano Level 2-3 Student's who have completed Piano Level 1 or who have some previous training in basic piano fundamentals will continue to study popular and classical music.  Textbook required.
Piano Let's Play the Classics Play music of the masters at your own ability level.  Students will study the lives and play the music of composers from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary eras.  Bring your lunch and enjoy!
Piano, Mostly Pop, Rock, Rag This is a continuing class for students who have completed Piano Level 2-3 or who have previous training in basic piano fundamentals.  Students will learn chords and how to use them in basses, embellishments and fill-ins.

Hot Flash - Hormonal Decline at Menopause Confusion abounds about hormones studies, which hormones are safe, when they should be started, how long to take them, and how to maintain optimal overall health.  Nancy Siskowic, a nurse practitioner and national certified menopause clinician, will address these concerns and some of the physical, sexual and psychological issues women face at this time of life.
Pilates - Mat Exercise This beginning course offers an introduction to Pilates theory and exercise.  Pilates emphasizes a core box composed of the abdomen, low back, diaphragm and pelvic floor as control center for a system of exercises.  Improved posture and body awareness will result.  Breathing and relaxation exercises are also incorporated.  Learn to correctly execute an exercise program for home use and experience a sensation of being longer and leaner
