A: Yes, you can enroll at any time, however some classes
have a curriculum that builds on prior lessons, so you should use your
own judgment to in determining whether you have enough experience in
the subject or feel you can devote extra time - on you own - to "catch
u."
Q: Should I pay attention to the suggested prerequisites or
experience for classes?
A: Yes you should determine, if you have the suggested
pre-requisites. When you do, you will find the class experience
more helpful and you will be more successful in meeting your goals.
Q: Do I have to take a test for ESL Classes?
A: Yes the test is used to place you in the correct level so that
you can begin at your current English Language skill level and
continue to improve.
Q: What is an Older Adult.
A: Older Adult classes are designed for students who are 55 years
of age or older. Younger adults may enroll in Older Adult
programs, as long as there is space available.
A: Computer classes for Seniors are also open to non-seniors.
These courses are designed to progress in a more relaxed atmosphere,
while still providing similar curriculum as that of similar
courses for non-seniors.
Q: What is the difference between "mandated" and "community
education classes"?
A: Mandated classes are classes that are supported by the state
department of education (CDE) and include Career Technical Education
(Computers, floral design, Barber, Cosmetology, Campus Security,
Coaching Principles, Pharmacy Technician, Accounting and more),
English as a Second Language, Parenting, Home Economics, Health,
Nutrition and Safety, Older Adults, Adult Basic Education, Adult
Secondary Education and Adults with Disabilities.
